West Ham defender Herita Ilunga could move to France after Monaco declared their interest in signing him on loan.

The Congo international has failed to feature regularly for the Hammers since boss Avram Grant took over from Gianfranco Zola.

The 28-year-old joined the Upton Park outfit from Toulouse in 2008 and he could now be set for a return to France as he goes in search of game time.

"I heard the news about Monaco in the papers," he said.

"My job is to play every day and I am fighting for that, every player wants to play."

Il faut qu'il reste en Angleterre , mais qu'il parte absolument de West Ham , au risque de descendre en 2ème division .

Comme nous vous l'indiquions il y a quelques jours maintenant, Monaco s'intéresse au latéral gauche de West Ham Herita Ilunga (28 ans, 12 apparitions en Premier League cette saison). Selon RMC, le club de la Principauté ferait actuellement le forcing pour récupérer le défenseur congolais avant la clôture du mercato hivernal. L'ancien Stéphanois viendrait remplacer Djimi Traoré, out jusqu'à la fin de la saison.

L'AS Monaco pourrait recruter demain lundi sous forme de prêt le défenseur de West Ham Herita Ilunga (28 ans, 12 matchs en Premier League cette saison). Selon France Football, le club de la Principauté pourrait bien parvenir à ses fins dans ce dossier car le latéral gauche des Hammers serait intéressé par le défi monégasque. L'ancien Toulousain pourrait débarquer sur le Rocher au cours des prochaines heures.
