Le jury disciplinaire de la CAF a condamné la JS Kabylie à disputer son prochain match de Coupe africaine à huis clos, suite aux jets de fumigènes et projectile survenus à Tizi Ouzou lors de la demi-finale retour de Ligue des Champions Orange face au TP Mazembe, le mois dernier.

Réuni samedi à Johannesburg, le jury disciplinaire de la CAF s’est notamment penché sur les incidents survenus lors de la demi-finale retour de Ligue des Champions Orange entre la JS Kabylie et le TP Mazembe, le 16 octobre dernier. Le club algérien a été sévèrement sanctionné, puisqu’il jouera son prochain match à domicile dans les compétitions interclubs de la CAF à huis clos. Les Canaris devront en outre s’acquitter d’une amende de 20.000 dollars US pour « utilisation abusive et répétitive par les spectateurs de projectiles et fumigènes sur le terrain. »

Tunisian journalists complain to Blatter

A group of Tunisian sport journalists calling themselves Infosfoot have written a letter to the head of Fifa – Sepp Blatter – complaining about alleged “ill-treatment” at the hands of their hosts TP Mazembe when Tunisian side Esperance lost 5-0 in the first leg of the African Champions League final in Lubumbashi last week.

The Tunisian media practitioners claim they were abused prior, during and after the match. They bitterly complain that their compatriots (Esperance) were denied the opportunity to use the Stade de la Kenya Stadium on the eve of the match as dictated to by Fifa and hope the world controlling body would intervene.

“We want to attract to your attention the detestable conditions of reception reserved for Esperance by TP Mazembe,” read a part of the letter to Blatter. “the conditions of training for teams in any international contest before the match according to the universal regulations of Fifa.

“We also specifically want to draw your attention to the performance of Togolese referee Djaoupe Kokou and his two assistants. We say to you that this referee was suspended for a period of three years by your authorities for corruption and scandal previously for benefiting from “indulgence” of “Social Security Office” and was thus suspended.

“Against Mazembe he was partisan in favor of the All-Powerful Mazembe. Footage of the match could show you of the bad faith of this figure who dishonored football in the knowledge that the boss of African referees is Amadou Diakite, the Malian who is part of the ongoing scandal relating to the designation of the country that would organise the 2018 Fifa World Cup.”

The missive continues to complain that a Tunisian delegation was a victim of serious acts of violence and provocation of the highest order which was contrary to the directives of Fifa and its traditions to deny accredited journalists the right to do their jobs unhindered.

But this sounded more like a case of sour grapes as they could not stomach the clinical manner in which their compatriots were put to the sword by the defending African Champions League in a match played under extremely blazing conditions.

They might have a case when it comes to the opening goal which their goalkeeper appeared to have collected on the ground facing the goal-line and then rolled it back into play and maybe the whole circumference of the ball did not cross the line.

*But statistics showed that Mazembe enjoyed 78% of the possession at that stage.
*By the 30th minute Esperance had committed 14 fouls compared to two by Mazembe.
*Kokou was spot-on when he awarded Mazembe a penalty after Given Singuluma was tripped in the penalty area.
*Again Kokou was spot-on when he sent off Mohamed Monsour after the latter elbowed Alain Kaliyituka in an off the ball incident.
*They barred the media from watching their training session on the eve of the match at the match venue.
*They arrived in Lubumbashi on a chartered flight.
*They were accommodated at the five star Grand Karavia hotel.

I saw a Tunisian player kick and punch a local photo journalist and chased across the field a ball boy before smashing a 2litre water bottle on the young boy’s back who tried to flee from the enraged player.

We also have footage of the Tunisians chanting racial slurs against Mazembe as well as the Confederation of African Football which they labeled as corrupt and threatened with gestures to slash the throats of Mazembe officials when they visit Tunis for the second leg match.

The second leg match is scheduled for Tunisia on Saturday November 13.

Caf-Sanctions: 65.000 $ d’amende pour l’Espérance de Tunis

La commission de discipline de la CAF, réunie dimanche 7 novembre en Afrique du Sud, a condamné l’Espérance Sportive de Tunis au payement de 65 000 USD. Cette sanction financière a été prise à la suite de l’examen des incidents survenus lors de matches entre ce club et Al-Ahly, d’une part, et le TP Mazembe, d’autre part.

Le club sang et or écope d’une amende de 50.000 USD pour «comportement violent des spectateurs», et devra, en outre, rembourser le montant des dégâts causés au stade.

Cette amende fait suite aux incidents ayant émaillé la demi-finale aller de Ligue des Champions Orange entre Al-Ahly et l’Espérance de Tunis, le 3 octobre. Des échauffourées avaient opposé les supporters espérantistes aux personnels de sécurité sur Cairo Stadium.

Par ailleurs, l’Espérance Sportive de Tunis devra s’acquitter d’une autre amende, de 15.000 dollars, pour «comportement violent et regrettable des joueurs», lors de la finale aller de l’épreuve, sur le terrain du TP Mazembe.

Les Corbeaux de Lubumbashi sont, quant à eux, rappelés à l’ordre, pour «mesures sécuritaires et organisationnelles durant les matches joués à Lubumbashi.»

Mohamed Ben Mansour, expulsé au match aller, et Majdi Traoui, ayant totalisé deux avertissements, manqueront à la finale retour de samedi 13 novembre.
