APR club president Brig. Gen. Alex Kagame told The New Times yesterday that the military side does not tolerate indisciplined players and will ban the player.
"Bokungu is still our player, despite claims that he is out of contract with the club. His contract expires next year," Kagame revealed.
"We are going to ban him for his indiscipline."
Bokungu was recently seen on DRC satellite television station, Digital Congo saying that his contract with APR ran out this month.
"My contract with APR [has] ended and if they need me, we will have talks for an extension, but for now I'm on a break," Bokungu said.
The striker has scored 12 goals this season, two goals shy of top scorer Jean Lomami (Atraco). According to reports from the local football governing body, FERWAFA, the league resumes on July 18.
Reigning champions Atraco top the table with 47 points, two more than APR. Rayon Sport are in third place on 40 points.
