MATUMONA dans le groupe du BIRMINGHAM
ROUM est en ce moment-ci dans le groupe du Birmingham...Lisez ce passage que j'ai tiré du journal du club, Birmingham Mail.net de ce 12 juillet 2008...
"Travelling with the group tomorrow is ZOLA MATUMONA, a Congo midfielder with FC Brussels, who made an impression when on trial towards the latter part of last season.
A diminutive ball player, the 26-year-old caught Blues'eye with his speed and technique during a stay at Wast Hills and they have secured a longer look at him.
MATUMONA has had a rocky relationship with his Belgian club. He walked out in November 2007 after accusing chairman Johan Vermeersch of making racist remarks towards him. The incident was patched up but FC Brussels lost their main sponsor KIA due to the rumpus."

Alex McLeish pledge on signings
Jul 12 2008
ALEX McLeish has assured Blues’ supporters the club are pulling out all the stops to make the team better, not weaken it.
Bosman free transfers Lee Carsley and Kevin Phillips are impressive additions to the squad, which heads out to Tirol in Austria tomorrow for a pre-season training camp.
But McLeish has yet to pay a fee for a player, and has lost nine, including Mikael Forssell and Fabrice Muamba, while rumours continue to swirl around about the futures of James McFadden and Sebastian Larsson, not to mention Olivier Kapo, while Stephen Kelly is being eyed by Fulham.
“I would say to our supporters that whoever we have lost, we have tried to replace with quality,” McLeish stressed.
“I would also tell them that if anyone else goes, again it would be our intention to replace with quality.
“I am not saying people are definitely going to go.
What I am saying is that we want to start the new season with a better team than finished the last season, that last game against Blackburn Rovers. It’s my job as manager to do that, with the help of the board.”
Travelling with the group tomorrow is Zola Matumona, a Congo midfielder with FC Brussels, who made an impression when on trial towards the latter part of last season.
A diminutive ball player, the 26-year-old caught Blues’ eye with his speed and technique during a stay at Wast Hills and they have secured a longer look at him.
Matumona has had a rocky relationship with his Belgian club. He walked out in November 2007 after accusing chairman Johan Vermeersch of making racist remarks towards him.
The incident was patched up but FC Brussels lost their main sponsor Kia due to the rumpus.
Kapo, whose injured arm remains in a cast, is not going and neither is Franck Queudrue who, like Kapo, blotted his copybook by not returning for pre-season training on time.
Wigan Athletic are intensifying their efforts to sign Kapo, and Ryan Taylor has again been suggested in part-exchange.
As for Queudrue, his departure appears inevitable after McLeish took a strong line following his ill-discipline.
McLeish has also been linked with Derby County’s Stephen Pearson, but has kept publicly quiet on the transfer front.
Blues will be based in the village of Westendorf, near Kitzbuhel, and have their first game on Monday evening.
It will be a relatively low-key affair at their training base against Kirchberg, a local non-league outfit.
