Que les Mputu qui ont la chance de jouer une Coupe du monde dans leurs carrières posent la question à leurs ainés, Bwanga, Kakoko, Tshinabu, Mayanga...lesquels ainés étaient bien plus doués qu'eux...Qu'ils leur demandent de témoigner de leurs expériences au Mundial...Immanquablement, ces ainés leur diront qu'ls regrettent d'avoir boudé la sélection likolo ya ba primes...Résultat: 9-0...Jusqu'ajd, tout le monde en parle et on ne retient de leurs prouesses que ce cinglant 9-0, "shame of africa"...C'est triste et révoltant...Pourtant dans son interview sur ce site, leur ainé Ilunga Mwepu leur a avertis que ce qui compte, c'est d'abord le résultat sportif, pour la prospérité...S'ils sabotent cette CM pour des conneries de primes et font honte au maillot, ce sera fini pour leurs carrières...Il faudra q'ils mettent à jamais une croix dessus...Un peu de maturité garçons !!! Et puis, réclamer des primes à Katumbi, oui...Mais je crois que jusqu'ajd ils n'ont pas eu à se plaindre de lui...Mais pourquoi les réclamer de ce "gouvernementeurs"? Qu'ils oublient ce "gouvernement" et cette fédération !!!

C'est exactement ca que j'essaye aussi de dire ! Tout ceci m'énerve ! Franchement il y a des gens qui ne savent pas réfléchir correctement au bon moment !

Friday’s quarter-final of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2009 brings together the African champions TP Mazembe and their Asian counterparts Pohang Steelers. The respective sides, who are both making their debuts in the competition, will not be lacking motivation, as awaiting the winners in the next round will be none other than Copa Libertadores champions Estudiantes La Plata, one of the giants of South American football.

The stakes
Four-times Korean champions Pohang Steelers go into this competition firmly established as one of Asia’s top teams. They also have experience of facing African opposition in a major competition, having represented their continent in the now-defunct Afro-Asian Championship following their AFC Champions League successes in 1997 and 1998.

For all that, the South Koreans will not be underestimating TP Mazembe, who have won ten league titles, and five since the turn of the century. One of the strongest teams in Congo DR, Mazembe have now made five appearances in the CAF Champions League final, going all the way on three occasions, including their victory earlier this year.

The Steelers’ Brazilian coach, Sergio Farias, will be relying heavily on compatriot Denilson and his forward partner No Byung Jun, whose goals in the semi-final and final of the Asian Champions League 2009 helped earn him the player of the tournament award.

Meanwhile, his opposite number, Frenchman Diego Garzitto, is expected to have top scorer Mabi Mputu spearheading his attack, alongside Dioko Kaluyituka and Mulota Kabangu, in a bid to prise open the Koreans’ formidable defence.

Steelers confident of upsetting Mazembe
Korean and African champions clash tomorrow to decide who will face Argentina's Estudiantes in the semifinals

Image Credit: AHMED KUTTY/Gulf News Abu Dhabi: Asian champions Pohang Steelers are confident of upsetting African champions TP Mazembe to advance to the last four of the Club World Cup.

Mazembe, who tasted success as African champions following a 40-year gap, were rewarded $1.5 million (Dh5.5m) for booking their quarterfinal tie against the Korean side.

The Africans will start off as favourites to book a semifinal clash against Argentina's Estudiantes de La Plata, but the Koreans are keen to spoil that party.

Competitive club

Brazilian Sergio Farias, who has steered the Steelers to some important wins in the past, said on the club's website: "In football, a competitive club has high expectations to win, but there is no absolute power.

"Barcelona is favoured to triumph this year, but it fell to Internacional of Brazil in the 2006 final. Unpredictable results can happen.''

"I guarantee that Pohang will advance to the semifinal and at that level, we need to show something to reach the title match.

"We are mentally well prepared and if we keep focused, we will be able to pull off a good result," the 42-year-old coach said.

"Pohang is not studded with star players but is a team that is capable of winning games,'' he added

With a large band of supporters expected to cheer the Steelers, the Congo club will also be looking for backing from the large number of expatriates from Africa who live and work in the UAE.

OK, decidement, je dois intervenir, il me semble comme si tout le monde qui a reagi a ce sujet est pesimiste. Mais Honettement parlant, Mbongo Mbongo te, je suis pres a parier ma tete que Mazembe motive! je vx m'expliquer.... Tous ces joueurs revent l'europe, et aussi kizengi qu'ils sont, ils savent que la coupe du monde des club c'est leurs chance a eux. Il vont se donner a font, Mbongo, mbonge te, il vont la bas pas pour representer la rdc, mais pour "se mettre en vitrine". oui je me rapel qu'à une certaine periode, notre ilus national traduisait les articles avant de les poster ici...depuis peu plus rien!!!à cause de zemekwa??????
