Are you asking because you want to post a picture on that page or are you asking because you're just interested in the stadium? If the latter, well, there may not be many pictures but there are a lot of videos available. You've probably come across this already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1cNhMWzJUo

While we're all speaking english, does my french decieve me or did I read that ticket prices have gone up? I saw a sight I never thought I'd see last week. Empty seats. I worry that when Egypt comes to Kinshasa, the Stade des Martyrs won't be as intimidating as it usually is and our stronghold isn't what it once was.

Perhaps good that they're not packing 120,000 in anymore, one day something bad was bound to happen, but empty seats? :o

The boxing match was in 1974!

It was held at Stade Tata Raphael, which is just down the street. It was called Stade du 20 mai back then. It is still there but the Stade des Martyrs kind of replaced its use and it has become dilapidated. It has actually been being used for LINAFOOT and EPFKIN lately because of all the renovations going on at the Stade des Martyrs, these games have literally been played on sand.

I've noticed the that it has led to the latest innovation in Congolese football, using the dirt to create tees to launch free kicks from.

A couple pics of Tata Raphael.
